Cybercrime is the most recent and may be the most complex problem in the cyber world, consisting of a variety of illicit digital behaviours directed at an individual, an organisation, or a government in order to inflict harm. The word ‘cybercrime’ refers to a wide range of attack tactics, which can vary from minor website defacements to serious actionssuch as service interruptions that affect company and income. Protection from cybercrimeis criticalto a country's social, cultural, and security aspects. Legal measures are critical to preventing and combatting cybercrime.India passed the Inform- ation Technology Act in 2000 [12], which was significantly ammended in 2008 to provide more robust and strict legislation, as well as essential technological and operational counter- measures. The evolving nature of cybercrime has presented new issues to the judicial system across the world, including India.
