Abstract: Religious extremism has become a considerable concern in Bangladesh, affecting national security, societal stability, and diplomatic ties. This study investigates the fundamental reasons of extremism, its security ramifications, the influence of digital platforms on radicalization, and the impact on Bangladesh's foreign relations. A quantitative research methodology was employed, gathering data from 400 participants via a structured survey. Research reveals that poverty, political exploitation of religion, transnational extremist influences, and social media radicalization are the principal catalysts of extremism. Despite the existence of government counterterrorism initiatives, popular skepticism about their efficacy persists. Extremism adversely impacts Bangladesh's global reputation, notably straining relations with Western countries. The research underscores the necessity for a holistic approach that integrates law enforcement, digital regulation, educational reforms, and international cooperation to effectively combat extremism. It is imperative to address both current security issues and long-term socio-economic variables for the attainment of sustained peace and stability in Bangladesh.
